Subframe connectors are probably the first thing you should do to your Mustang (although they generally take a back seat to performance mods). Even from the factory, the OEM setup is not up to the task. Add some more power and you're asking for trouble. Rid yourself from worry with a set of subframe connectors such as these from Wild Rides. They tie the subframes together and incorporate the seat mounts (another weak area) for additional protection.

This pair from Wild Rides is constructed from 1" x 2" x .120" wall thickness steel tubing - with T supports for seats. They extend from the firewall back and will give you a nice, rigid platform for the rest of your suspension mods or engine mods. The connectors measure a little over 5 feet long, bridging the gap between your subframes and giving you a long surface area. The more surface area, the more frame attaching points you'll have, making your frame stronger. Wild Rides also seal the tubing by welding on end caps to prevent moisture from getting inside the connector and rusting them from the inside out.

These connectors also have seat braces that are to be welded to the connector tube during installation. This customizes the fitment to match the car. This is the best method to account for variations in the floor pan.
